Pearwood Joinery and Construction Ltd

Our Services

Period Property Restoration

Conserving character while repairing failing fabric. Pearwood restores period and listed homes across Surbiton and Kingston with specialist joinery, lime-mortar repairs and sympathetic modern upgrades.

Approach — Period property restoration is about matching originals and preserving patina while arresting failure. Pearwood focuses on minimal intervention: repair before replace, splice repairs for rotten sills and rafters, conservation sash repairs (rebalance weights, replace cords, re-glaze with traditional putty) and timber treatments that retain historic fabric. All brickwork repointing uses lime mortar to match existing joints and allow the wall to breathe; lead and timber flashings are reinstated where required to shed water effectively.

Services we provide include structural timber repairs, sash window and door conservation, traditional joinery manufacture (period mouldings, cornices, stairparts), lime-mortar repointing, breathable damp remediation, cut-pitch roofing repairs and coordinated renovation work. Pearwood works across Surbiton, Kingston upon Thames and within a 25–30 mile radius from our London base at BonHill Street. Our Owner, Mr Mark Crosby, oversees each job personally and our operatives are CSCS qualified, City & Guilds trained and DBS checked for peace of mind.

Our Process

How It Works

01

Thorough Condition Survey

Pearwood carries out a detailed fabric survey and written condition report that identifies decay, settlement, previous repairs and conservation constraints.

02

Conservation-Led Repair Plan

We produce a sympathetic repair specification — timber splice repairs, lime mortar repointing, sash restoration — and advise on Listed Building Consent when needed.

03

Skilled Repair and Handover

Traditional joinery, breathable materials and modern standards are used to complete the works; we finish with snagging, maintenance advice and a documented handover.

Benefits

Why Choose Period Property Restoration?

Traditional Craft, Modern Qualifications

Thirty years' practical joinery backed by CSCS and City & Guilds qualifications ensures repairs use authentic methods — mortice & tenon, scarf joints and hand-planed profiles — delivered to current building standards.

Conservation-Sensitive Materials

We use lime mortar, breathable renders and soft-wood splices where appropriate to protect masonry and timber—avoiding cement and impervious products that cause long-term decay.

Full Project Management

Pearwood manages design, specialist joinery manufacture, consents liaison and multi-trade delivery on-site, reducing disruption to your home and keeping the project on schedule.
